The development team at Tightrope is excited to announce the availability of TRMS Labs, a new website to house our open source projects and utilities.

For the site’s launch, we have three projects available:

• Cablecast SuperCopy: A plugin for our Cablecast automation system to duplicate a day’s schedule far out into the future.
• Carousel RDA Tester: A sample application demonstrating how to use Carousel’s RDA feature to programatically control your digital signage.
• FixMpeg: A utility to convert most types of video to play back on the Cablecast SX video servers.

We’ve got a ton of cool ideas for additional projects that we’ll be adding in the coming months.

The best part of TRMS Labs is that all of our projects are open sourced. This means that we’re making all of the project source code available to anyone who wants it.

The source code for all of the projects is hosted on GitHub, a site where software developers can easily create their own copies of our projects (known as “forks”), and share their changes with the rest of the world. If you’ve got an idea on how to extend one of our projects, feel free to fork the project and make your changes. We’ll be able to fold your work back into our official projects for the entire TRMS community to share.

We can’t wait to start adding more projects, and we look forward to seeing what our talented community can do! As we release additional open source projects on TRMS Labs, we’ll be sure to post about it here on the blog.
