I’ve been saying we’ll be releasing Carousel 5.2 at the end of August for a long while now. So far, we’ve been right on target for that date. But today we’ve decided to push out that release date for a couple weeks.

Why? Well, we’re not quite ready to announce why, but trust me, the wait will be worth it. Stay tuned for more details.

In the meantime, here’s a rundown of some of the new things to expect in 5.2:

• EDS on/off when created as Alert bulletins
• Global waiting-bulletin email notification
• RSS enhancements (atom, item spacing, feed fields)
• iCal support in EDS (use Exchange calendars!)
• Revamped zone slideshow
• Adjustable dynamic update frequency
• Background audio randomization, bulk uploading
• New Clock Features: digital, countdown timer
• New Screensavers (supports channels!)
• …One more thing!

That’s all for now. Expect the final 5.2 release in mid September.
