Carousel Design Services, an instant replay machine, and an HD Video Server
Well, we’re back from the Alliance for Community Media conference in Washington DC where we had a chance to speak with some of our Cablecast and Carousel customers about these new products that are in the works.
We have a webpage dedicated for these exciting announcements and you can click here to go directly there. Otherwise, read on for an overview on the products.
Later this year, we will offer design services for Carousel systems. This new division, Tightrope Creative, will be committed to the design and layout of Carousel channels, taking the concept of templates and backgrounds to an entirely new level. Customers will be able to choose from predesigned channels – or consult with us on a complete custom design. Further details will be announced over the next few months. In the meantime, one lucky customer will win a free design package, so be sure to visit the webpage and fill out the entry form.
Secondly, we are proud to announce an HD version of our popular SX2 Video Server. This server is a true broadcast quality high definition server with 2 decode channels and 1 encode channel delivering true MPEG2 HD-SDI video at up to 150Mbps per channel. The technology is built on the same platform as the existing SX lineup, and like the SX servers, will operate under Cablecast automation. These units will be available later this year.
The last product we’re introducing is quite unique for us, as we’ve always been a manufacturer of playback automation. Now, for the first time, Tightrope will offer a digital replay system for live production. Complete with four encoding channels, the replay system allows real-time in / out point marking for instant playback of clips. This product is in its infant stages, so please visit the webpage for more information including a prototype screencast. We are currently searching for beta testers.
