Art from limitation: Twitter

If you don’t know about twitter go google it… The most amazing thing about twitter, to me, is how you have limited characters in your tweets. I love it. It is a great example of thoughtful design. The creators decided that 140 characters is all you need. There is no technical limitation, tweets could be thousands of characters long.

Limiting your space makes your message more powerful.

We made a twitter account for development at TRMS. Our developers tweet about what they are working on and it is displayed on our Carousel digital signage displays. This lets everyone in the office know what is happening in development.

There is no getting around the fact that twitter makes me feel like a geeky high school kid who doesn’t have any friends because nobody follows *my* tweets except for the Carousel robot.
