We are pleased to announce the WIFI option for the Carousel Solo and Player 210.

The Carousel Solo 210 is a small digital signage appliance suitable for single channel applications. The Player 210 shares the same form factor as the Solo, but is utilized with a Carousel Server in multi-channel digital signage systems.

With the WIFI option, the 210 form factor can be installed in applications where network access would otherwise be difficult or impossible. It fits inside the 210′s impossibly small chassis, with only the small and durable WIFI antenna exposed in the back.

During testing, Tightrope loaned a pre-release version of the product to a Missouri based bus company, where a Player 210 outfitted with the new card would make contact with a Carousel server at the station. The solution worked perfectly, with the Player 210 gracefully regaining connection at the station and updating itself while parked. When the bus left, it continued playing it’s appointed bulletins using the Player’s internal hard drive cache.

The WIFI option is perfect for any installation with challenging needs and is fully compatible with 802.11 B/G network hot spots. It is available today as part number CAR-WIFI.
